This week's Patio Sessions is sort of bittersweet as we host Ana Rubio's send-off party as she and her husband Jorge make the move to Guanajuato, Mexico. We welcome the Spacebyrdz for their first Patio Sessions appearance whom have been making waves in Vegas and beyond with their techno and techhouse based DJ sets and original studio productions. You can catch them grinding it out all over Vegas on any given week opening for some of the world's top DJ talent or busting their ass on their own events into the wee hours and beyond.Ana has been taken under their wings over the years (so to speak) and has definitely come into her own and has become one of Vegas' hottest underground dance DJs. Patio Sessions has been great so far this summer with surprise international guest DJ's, along with a huge amount of support from the Las Vegas Underground! Join us again this Saturday Night for another special edition of PATIO SESSIONS at SATAY as we welcome back resident DJ SENSÉ, along with very special guest DJ OLIVER TWIST. You may recognize the name from the classic tale by Charles Dickens, but this Oliver Twist isn't a character from a children's book! Here, his name is synonymous with the Southern California club scene. Spinning grooves for over 18 years! He has played at some of the best clubs and parties in the country like Level (Miami), Utopia (Vegas), Coachella, Giant (LA), Honey (LA), Union@Montage (San Diego) and Remedy (OC). Currently Oliver Twist has residencies at one of LA's biggest and best nightclubs, Spundae and with the infamous Funky Tekno Tribe. We our proud to welcome Oliver to PS in Las Vegas! We are extremely excited for this week's special guest DJ, Garth from the legendary Wicked Crew (San Francisco). Garth has been an incredible influence throughout the early DJ careers of Frank Richards and myself along with being one of the key players in America's dance music history starting in the early nineties.
Over the years, Garth has blown us away with some incredible sets that have always incorporated a broad perspective of dance music spanning over many decades. He is one of those rare DJs that has always had that special knack to bring it all together as one cohesive night of dancefloor bliss.
Please join us for this very special evening as one of America's iconic dance music legends joins us at this week's edition of Patio Sessions along with resident DJ Frank Richards and special guest Keith Evan on support duty.
...and don't forget Garth Part II as he joins the crew for a special poolside set at Lounge Inn located at the Artisan Pool. Hands down, this has been one of my favorite parties of the summer. From the music, to the party people, to the staff, to the location, to the sound...all the elements are there to make for an incredible pool day week in and week out all summer long.

Sorry for the long email ahead of time but we have a lot on the platter for you guys this week and upcoming so here. We. Go!Looks like the ole Vegas weather decided to roll right into the heat of summer with no real Spring to speak of this year...at least it's not cold and windy that's all I gotta say. This week we have a double header of guests joining us from my hometown of Denver featuring special guests Sante Suffoletta and Zac Larsen. Sante was one of Denver's original rave DJs when I was coming up in the scene there and owe a lot to him and a handful of other Denver jocks for lighting the dance music torch and keeping burning for the next generation to come.On the other end of the spectrum, Zac held down the last underground specialty record shop in Denver called Sweat Records. That is not to say he is not a veteran of the scene as he has put on events with the likes of Fred Everything and more along with holding it down on the 1's and 2's in his own right.Zac is also responsible for launching one of the first and only sustainable clothing/te-shirt companies in Colorado called Commit Clothing. We are proud to have Commit Clothing sponsor this weekend's festivities along with providing FREE giveaways for evening!!! First things first. As the weather is getting a little nipply out at night lately we have decided to move our weekly house jammie indoors for the time being. Now we can all get drunk at the bar and still rock out to some bumpin' house music. Not a bad deal if I do say so myself.This week we have DJ Theory as our special guest who needs no introduction. Having had residencies all over Las Vegas as well as playing alongside a dope funk/soul band on the regular, Theory is definitely one of this cities most versatile DJs. Theory has the ability to play a wide range of sets from downtempo, to hip-hop, to deep, to funky to bangin' and everything in between but one thing is for certain...it will always have mad urban flava in your ear. One of his biggest influences and inspirations in the house spectrum of music he plays is Mark Farina so can expect to put a little funk in yo trunk when Theory is on the decks.Boomptie boomp! As the Vegas weather cools down, Patio Sessions heats things back up as we bring you a stacked lineup this week. We are very excited to have Chicago's DJ Jes (Fresca Recordings) in the house this week as he is responsible for one of my favorite records called "Personal Surroundings" that came out years ago on Siesta. DJ Jes takes the loopy, jackin', disco sounds of Chicago and infuses them with rolling tribal rhythms and grooved out tracky goodness. This seasoned DJ/producer has put out a ton of records over the years and has definitely carved out his own expression of what Chicago house is. Respect and recognize, DJ Jes keeps it real as it gets on all fronts.Also servin' up the beats this Saturday is our very own Lenny Alfonso and DJ Wil rounded out by resident DJ Carlos Sanchez to kick it up a few more degrees in the caliente department. All I can say is WOW! I had an amazing time this past Halloween weekend all around. The weekend started early with Keith Evan's B-Day edition of Soundbar with Ben Watt. Much props to my boy Keith for throwin' it dowwwwwwn. Sick set...glad I wasn't in Ben Watt's shoes following that set son ;-)
Saturday was an amazing night at the Patio Sessions Halloween Party as well. It was great to have the Denver crew as well as my brother in the house for a weekend of sick beats and some costumed debauchery. Damn I love Halloween! Congratulations to my boy Joey M and his beautiful new wife Fawn, I am glad we had the opportunity to be a part of your wedding. Good stuff all around!

Oh yes! I am back in the 702 after an amazing few days in Denver last weekend but glad to be back to this perfect weather and another weekend filled with beats.
Thanks to all that came out last weekend for Frank Richards as he dusted of the ole wax (That would be vinyl records for all you digital babies!) for his night of dance classics. Heard it was a doozy...as much of a doozy it can be without the #1 trouble maker in the house that is ;-)
This weeks special guest is Baltimore transplant Mike Hopper. Mike has a rich history in house music within the Baltimore scene and has had numerous residencies there throughout the years. Baltimore is home to house legends like the Basement Boys and Mike Hopper is not a DJ to be sleepin' on by a longshot. His meticulous programming ,music knowledge and DJ skills will take you from the deep to the jackin' to the techie and back again smooth like buttah baby...truly a musical journey every time he steps to the decks. Just how we like it, we hope you do too!
Don't forget to start thinking about your Halloween costumes as it will be upon us before you can carve 1 triangle into your pumpkin bumpkin! Yep, it's October and the air has magically gotten easier to breathe and I am considering the fine array of fashion choices I will have to wear out and about from here on out. Nights on the patio have been shaping up nicely along with the weather and it feels great to be holding down the only dedicated house night geared towards gettin' your groove on (as opposed to ultra loungin') during the weekend in Vegas. For all you workin' peeps, I feel your pain. The Vegas weekends don't offer much in the way of real deal dance music, especially with the loss of our beloved Empire Ballroom. Speaking of...this week's special guest came up in the Vegas dance scene from that very building by way of the legendary Utopia. One of the few loco...erm...local Las Vegans in the DJ scene here, Mr. Frank Richards joins us this week for a very special night of dance classics. Many apologies to those who came out for Nate Scott last week to find he was missing in action! Fair enough, he got a new job over at City Center and was not able to make it for a little time on the ones and twosies with us. As many of our out of state peeps are starting to put on their jackets, boots and sweaters, we have the luxury of rolling into the Vegas season that is pretty much...well, perfect. The patio has been absolutely beautiful of late and will continue to get even nicer for these next couple of months ahead, rest assured.
If you haven't noticed yet, I am absolutely ecstatic to be joining Carlos Sanchez and the crew over at SATAY as their newest resident DJ. I look forward to bringing that Casa Del Soul flava to Las Vegas along with pushing some great music every week which leads me to this week's lineup. Originally slated as the special guest, this week is now officially residents night! Woo hoo! Carlos and I will be tag teaming it all night long which is becoming a very tight team if I do say so myself. You be the judge. I challenge you to a dance off!
