PATIOS SESSIONS : ANA RUBIO'S GOING AWAY PARTY!

This week's Patio Sessions is sort of bittersweet as we host Ana Rubio's send-off party as she and her husband Jorge make the move to Guanajuato, Mexico. We welcome the Spacebyrdz for their first Patio Sessions appearance whom have been making waves in Vegas and beyond with their techno and techhouse based DJ sets and original studio productions. You can catch them grinding it out all over Vegas on any given week opening for some of the world's top DJ talent or busting their ass on their own events into the wee hours and beyond.

Ana has been taken under their wings over the years (so to speak) and has definitely come into her own and has become one of Vegas' hottest underground dance DJs. Sticking to her guns and always keeping the music quality top notch along with tight mixing and programming, Ana will be greatly missed in the Vegas dance music scene.

DJ Sensé "Paper Cranes : A Progressive House Mix" by casadelsoul

This is an all vinyl set which is a continuation of my set on XRadio.biz for DJ Psychomagnet's show here in Las Vegas. I was feelin' the vibe pulling out a lot of my old bangers so I had to get it out of my system.

I would like to make a special note on the remix of Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" that I put on this mix. It is a 15 minute long epic which is hands down THE original trance/progressive house record in my opinion. This is a super rare 12" remix done in 1982 by Patrick Cowley on the legendary Casablanca records. The clincher is that I found this record in mint condition in the plastic at an Arc Thrift Store in Denver for $2. Epic!

Patio Sessions has been great so far this summer with surprise international guest DJ's, along with a huge amount of support from the Las Vegas Underground! Join us again this Saturday Night for another special edition of PATIO SESSIONS at SATAY as we welcome back resident DJ SENSÉ, along with very special guest DJ OLIVER TWIST. You may recognize the name from the classic tale by Charles Dickens, but this Oliver Twist isn't a character from a children's book! Here, his name is synonymous with the Southern California club scene. Spinning grooves for over 18 years! He has played at some of the best clubs and parties in the country like Level (Miami), Utopia (Vegas), Coachella, Giant (LA), Honey (LA), Union@Montage (San Diego) and Remedy (OC). Currently Oliver Twist has residencies at one of LA's biggest and best nightclubs, Spundae and with the infamous Funky Tekno Tribe. We our proud to welcome Oliver to PS in Las Vegas!

PATIO SESSIONS ft. SPECIAL GUEST GARTH!

We are extremely excited for this week's special guest DJ, Garth from the legendary Wicked Crew (San Francisco). Garth has been an incredible influence throughout the early DJ careers of Frank Richards and myself along with being one of the key players in America's dance music history starting in the early nineties.

Over the years, Garth has blown us away with some incredible sets that have always incorporated a broad perspective of dance music spanning over many decades. He is one of those rare DJs that has always had that special knack to bring it all together as one cohesive night of dancefloor bliss.

Please join us for this very special evening as one of America's iconic dance music legends joins us at this week's edition of Patio Sessions along with resident DJ Frank Richards and special guest Keith Evan on support duty.

...and don't forget Garth Part II as he joins the crew for a special poolside set at Lounge Inn located at the Artisan Pool. Hands down, this has been one of my favorite parties of the summer. From the music, to the party people, to the staff, to the location, to the sound...all the elements are there to make for an incredible pool day week in and week out all summer long.

Patio Sessions : : MDW Ft. Barry Weaver

For those of you that don't know, Barry Weaver is one of North America's legendary DJs from the old school rave scene. He came and rocked the house countless amounts of times in my hometown (Denver) over the years and has pretty much become extended family when it comes to my many connections through music. Barry has been an integral part of America's dance music scene over the years laying down countless amounts of amazing DJ sets over the years and we are very proud to have him as our special guest over this Memorial Day Weekend.

I have an especially soft spot for MDW in Las Vegas as it has become one of the premier destinations to hear dance music in the US provided by big name DJs all weekend long. Dance music takes center stage all weekend long in a town that is known more for it's DJs that have invented the "mash-up" genre opposed to being a legitimate place to hear some of the hottest underground dance music...so join us as we get together for this very special occasion as we bring one of America's most under rated DJs for a night to remember. We have one of my favorite Denver partners in crime joining us for the evening on deck duty, Mr. Tommy Gray (Beta Denver). Special guest DJ Papa Smurf AKA Frank Richards is also in da house, which adds a whole 'notha dimension to the tomfoolery and shenanigans that is about to go down on Saturday night. Trust me on this one...The Retard Circus will be in full effect ;-)

We also have the lovely Ms. Tracy Mai celebrating her birthday and doing a special holiday calendar signing. She is our Ms. December in the supa dupa sexy Girls of SATAY Calendar and also happens to be our favorite SATAY waitress to boot. Happy b-day girlie, it will be good to have you on party duty with us for the evening! We love you long time!

And if that wasn't enough, we will also be celebrating the birthday of Denver party girl Erin Pershing! Let's show her how it's done Vegas style. Tommy, I hope you don't mind us all spanking the crap outta your girl all night. It ain't personal OK...it's a birthday thang!

First things first. As the weather is getting a little nipply out at night lately we have decided to move our weekly house jammie indoors for the time being. Now we can all get drunk at the bar and still rock out to some bumpin' house music. Not a bad deal if I do say so myself.

This week we have DJ Theory as our special guest who needs no introduction. Having had residencies all over Las Vegas as well as playing alongside a dope funk/soul band on the regular, Theory is definitely one of this cities most versatile DJs. Theory has the ability to play a wide range of sets from downtempo, to hip-hop, to deep, to funky to bangin' and everything in between but one thing is for certain...it will always have mad urban flava in your ear. One of his biggest influences and inspirations in the house spectrum of music he plays is Mark Farina so can expect to put a little funk in yo trunk when Theory is on the decks.

As the Vegas weather cools down, Patio Sessions heats things back up as we bring you a stacked lineup this week. We are very excited to have Chicago's DJ Jes (Fresca Recordings) in the house this week as he is responsible for one of my favorite records called "Personal Surroundings" that came out years ago on Siesta. DJ Jes takes the loopy, jackin', disco sounds of Chicago and infuses them with rolling tribal rhythms and grooved out tracky goodness. This seasoned DJ/producer has put out a ton of records over the years and has definitely carved out his own expression of what Chicago house is. Respect and recognize, DJ Jes keeps it real as it gets on all fronts.

Also servin' up the beats this Saturday is our very own Lenny Alfonso and DJ Wil rounded out by resident DJ Carlos Sanchez to kick it up a few more degrees in the caliente department. Yes ladies...between DJ Jes, Lenny Alfonso and Carlos Sanchez, there is some seriously sexy Latin flava in the house...and don't sleep on ma man Wil either, just peep his press photos on Facebook ;-)

All I can say is WOW! I had an amazing time this past Halloween weekend all around. The weekend started early with Keith Evan's B-Day edition of Soundbar with Ben Watt. Much props to my boy Keith for throwin' it dowwwwwwn. Sick set...glad I wasn't in Ben Watt's shoes following that set son ;-)

Saturday was an amazing night at the Patio Sessions Halloween Party as well. It was great to have the Denver crew as well as my brother in the house for a weekend of sick beats and some costumed debauchery. Damn I love Halloween! Congratulations to my boy Joey M and his beautiful new wife Fawn, I am glad we had the opportunity to be a part of your wedding. Good stuff all around!

Thanks to all my Denver DJ peeps for making the night an extra special event and I gotta give a big shout out to the crew at SATAY as well for putting on a great wedding reception and holding it down all night long...I know it was a long one, but we did it!
